A debit card allows you to withdraw cash at ATMs and pay for purchases in physical stores or with online merchants.

What is a Debit Card and How Can I use it?

  • A debit card allows you to withdraw cash at ATMs and pay for purchases in physical stores or with online merchants.

Manage your Debit Card

  • Activate : You can activate your debit card by scanning the QR code on your card carrier, contacting a branch, live customer service agent, or through Citi® Online or the Citi Mobile® App

  • Lock-Unlock : Citi® Quick Lock is a digital functionality that allows you to temporarily lock / unlock your debit card. This service is intended to protect an account whenever a client misplaces their card by instantly blocking new purchases and cash advances. Locking and unlocking a debit card can be performed by the client via the Citi Mobile App, Citi Online, or in the IVR1.

  • Replace : Customers can request debit card replacements via branch, call center, Citi® Online or the Citi Mobile® App. If the reason the card is being replaced is lost/stolen, eligible customers will be able to view their new card credentials (card number, expiration date, CVV) on Citi® Online or the Citi Mobile® App. For all other card replacement reasons, customers will receive their debit card via mail.

  • Manage PIN : You can set a personalized PIN (Personalized Identification Number) by contacting a Citi agent, self-servicing via Citi Online or via a Citi ATM

  • Add your debit card to your digital or mobile wallet. You can add your Citi debit card to a digital wallet to conveniently use to make purchases at point of sale, online and in apps2.

  • Use your card for ongoing expenses like your phone and internet services, utilities and more, so they get paid automatically when you set up recurring payments with the merchant.

  • $0 Liability on Unauthorized Transactions. You are not liable for unauthorized purchases3.

  • Fraud Detection & Warning Alerts. Accounts routinely monitored to detect Fraud or unauthorized use.

  • ID Theft Protection: Provides cardholders with access to several Identity Theft resolution services, should cardholders believe they are victims of Identity Theft4.
