City Builder® by Citi Platform to Expand Data Beyond U.S. Opportunity Zones to Support More Community Development Opportunities
City Builder by Citi, a free, data-driven platform that aggregates information about community investment opportunities, is expanding its scope to include all U.S. cities. Originally designed to bring transparency to U.S. Opportunity Zones, the newest version of City Builder will now include information on 16,000+ U.S. cities, 73,000 census tracts, 485 community development projects, and 180 funds and community development entities.
Today, extensive data on urban areas exists in disparate locations across public records. The site aims to increase transparency and access to information in order to help investors, fund managers, developers, municipalities, and community members work together on community development projects.
With the City Builder platform, anyone can easily find and share information among potential partners. The site’s functionality allows users to
Analyze and compare the unique characteristics of communities across the country, including population, demographics, education, land usage, mobility scores, and more.
Identify community needs by understanding the priorities of residents like affordable housing, food access, job creation, youth services, pedestrian amenities, and plumbing facilities.
Find Qualified Opportunity Funds and Community Development Entities to gain insights into their investment and geographic focuses.
In addition to providing an overview of the characteristics of each census tract and a summary of recent development work, City Builder will cover information about Opportunity Zones, Low-Income Housing Tax Credits, and New Markets Tax Credit eligibility.
The City Builder platform is accessible via https://citi.com/citybuilder. The team is actively adding development projects and funds to the website. If you would like to get in touch with the team, please email: citybuilder@citi.com
