Bio

Adaobi is the in-business risk and controls manager for Citi Ventures. In this role, she is responsible for identifying risks and managing controls and reporting associated with Citi Ventures’ risk assessments, as part of Citi’s enterprise risk program.

Adaobi began her career in accounting at Andersen Tax, and in nonprofit consulting. She later joined JP Morgan (JPM)’s finance leadership program, working across finance operations and risk functions including JPM’s Resolution and Recovery plan and a secondment to a nonprofit organization in Germany. Most recently, Adaobi was the Risk Program Manager at Anchor Labs, a regulated cryptocurrency fintech. There, she partnered with the Head of Risk to establish the risk function for Anchor Labs’ trading and lending businesses, responding to compliance requests and managing third-party onboarding/partnerships for risk-related activities.

Adaobi received her MBA from the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia and her bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Los Angeles. She grew up in Lagos, Nigeria and currently lives in Brooklyn, New York. She enjoys traveling, exploring food cultures, hosting friends and participating in various sporting activities.
