Marvin J. Balliet is a Managing Director at Citibank and is currently the Head of Productivity for the Latin America Region. In this role, Marvin is responsible for leading the pursuit of a Business and Function model that will deliver a more efficient and effective organization to address the pressing need to adapt to the changing industry environment in Latin America. He is responsible for building a standard and lean regional organizational structure, enabling revenue-generating performance, and aligning resources to profitability. In this position, Marvin is a member of the Latin America Leadership Team.

Prior to this role, Marvin was the Head of Productivity for the Us Consumer and Commercial Banks, and the North America Mortgage business. Marvin worked with business leaders to identify efficiency and effectiveness opportunities, access risks and drive execution that resulted in over $940 million of expense reductions in 24 months. Marvin previously served as the Chief Operating Officer of Citigroup Mortgage Originations, where he was responsible for Sales and Fulfilment support, and control organizations and the Mortgage Reengineering Group. Marvin joined Citibank in 2009 as the Global Head of Procurement and Expense Category Management. In this role, Marvin was responsible for leading over 1000 staff in 49 countries. His teams' efforts led to over $800 million of economic value added through expense reductions, increased revenues and cost avoidance.

Prior to joining Citigroup, Marvin worked at Merrill Lynch for 23 years. His roles at Merrill Lynch included Chief Operating Officer for North America banks, Chief Operating Officer of Global Wealth Management–Americas Region, Chief Financial Officer of Global Technology & Operations, Director of Risk Management, Chief Financial Officer of Global Debt Markets and Director of Corporate Reporting, among others.

Marvin is a Certified Public Accountant and Chartered Global Management Accountant. He is a 1979 graduate of Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA, and he attended the Columbia University Executive Institute for Financial Management. Marvin is the Chairman of the Board of Citicorp Credit Services, Inc. and on the Business Advisory Council for the Duquesne University School of Business.
