Martha Navarrete joined Grupo Financiero Banamex (GFB), Citibanamex, as Chief Auditor for Mexico in September 2014. Martha was ratified as Chief Audit Executive GFB by the GFB Audit Committee of October 2014.

Martha has over 20 years’ experience in the financial services industry having worked in both private and public sectors. Prior to joining Banamex Martha spent four years working at Grupo Financiero Banorte, where she served as General Director, Internal Audit. Her areas of experience are in management of internal control department, policies, procedures, risk and regulatory compliance. Prior to Grupo Financiero Banorte, Martha spent 14 years working as a regulator at the National Banking and Securities Commission (CNBV) with a focus on Banking Regulation.

Martha holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Instituto Tecnologico Autonomo de Mexico and a Master's Degree in Business Administration in Financial Studies from the University of Nottingham in the UK.

Martha is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Internal Auditors in the UK (CMIIA), a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and is Qualifed in Internal Audit Leadership (QIAL).
