Alvaro Márquez is an Engineer from the Simon Bolivar University in Caracas. He has more than 27 years of experience working in top Fortune 500 multinational companies. Alvaro has worked in several countries across Latin America, including Peru, Colombia, Mexico and Venezuela in areas as diverse as Consumer (P&G and Unilever) as well as in the Telecommunications sector, and now in Banking and Finance.

He joined Citigroup 15 years ago and is currently the Human Resources Head for Latin America based in the U.S. Prior to this role, he has held the following positions at Citi: HR Cluster Head West Region, HR Cluster Head NLAC, LATAM RCB Head and LATAM SHRO.

Alvaro has undergone many path challenges in his long career ranging from Acquisitions, Merging, Joint Ventures and Divestitures. He has a Black-Belt certification in Total Quality Process. He also has a long experience in reengineering processes, in culture and in high-performance teams.
